The Last Cookie 🍪

Tom loved cookies more than anything. One day, his mom baked a big plate of chocolate chip cookies and left them on the kitchen table.

“Don’t eat them before dinner,” she said.

Tom looked at the cookies. They looked at Tom. He walked around the table. He smelled them. He counted them.

“One cookie won’t hurt,” he thought. So he ate one.

Then he thought, “Now the number is odd. That looks strange.” So he ate another one.

“Now it’s better,” he said.

A few minutes later, he ate another… and another… and another. Finally, only one cookie was left on the plate.

Tom smiled proudly. “Good. Now Mom won’t notice.”

Just then his mom walked into the kitchen, looked at the plate and asked:

“Tom… why is there only one cookie left?”

Tom shrugged and said, “Because… I was being polite. I left the last one for you.”

His mom smiled and said: “That’s very kind, Tom. Now you can watch me eat it.”

The Honest Student 🙋‍♂️

The teacher asked the class, “Who broke the classroom window?”

Nobody spoke.

After a moment, Ali slowly raised his hand.

“I did,” he said.

The teacher looked surprised.

“Thank you for being honest,” she said. “But how did it happen?”

Ali replied: “Well… you told us yesterday that honesty is the best policy. So today I decided to try it.”

The teacher nodded.

“Good choice,” she said. “Now the best policy is that you help the janitor fix it.”

Mysterious Homework 📝

One Monday morning, the teacher walked into the classroom with a serious face.

“Class,” she said, “I checked your homework last night. Something very strange happened.”

All the students looked at each other.

“What happened?” one student asked.

The teacher held up a paper. “This homework is… perfect,” she said.

Everyone turned to look at Sam. The paper had his name on it. Sam was famous in the class for many things — being funny, being late, and never doing homework.

The teacher looked at him suspiciously. “Sam,” she said, “did you really do this homework by yourself?”

Sam looked nervous. “Yes… of course,” he said.

The teacher raised an eyebrow. “Really?” she asked.

Sam nodded quickly. “Yes, teacher.”

The teacher slowly read part of the homework out loud.

“The historical and cultural development of ancient civilizations shows remarkable complexity…”

The whole class became very quiet.

Then the teacher looked back at Sam and asked, “Sam… do you even know what complexity means?”

Sam thought for a moment. Then he smiled and said,

“Not really… but Google does.”

The whole class started laughing — even the teacher. She shook her head and said,

“Well, Sam… next time tell Google to come to class and explain it.”
